Privacy policy
In plain language, on purpose — not lawyer text you have to decode.
What we collect
If you create an account: your email address, and whatever profile details you choose to add (first name, optional last name and birth year, a photo, and your preferences like text size, theme, and preferred puzzle difficulty).
As you use the site: which puzzles you’ve played, your answers and hints used, your streak, and basic first-party usage events (like "a puzzle was completed") that never include the content of what you typed or any personal details in their data.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your verified email, name, and profile photo from Google — never your Google password, which we never see.
Cookies and local storage
A session cookie keeps you signed in. A small "tz" cookie remembers your timezone so the daily puzzle flips over at your own midnight, not ours. Your text-size and theme choices are saved in your browser’s local storage, not sent anywhere. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so there’s no cookie banner to click through.
To count visits, we use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service: it sets no cookies, stores no personal information, and only tells us things like "how many people read this page" — never who they were.
How we use it
To run the service: sign you in, remember your streak and preferences, send you the sign-in link or reminder emails you’ve asked for, and understand in aggregate how the product is used so we can improve it. That’s the whole list.
What we never do
We never sell your data, and we never show you advertising or share your data with advertisers. That’s a permanent promise, not a policy that can quietly change.
Who else sees it
A small number of service providers who help us run Mind Vitality see the minimum data they need to do their job: our cloud hosting provider (which stores the database), our email delivery service (which sends the emails you’ve asked for), and — only if you choose to sign in that way — Google, to verify your identity. None of them may use your data for their own purposes.
Your rights
From your account’s Data & privacy page, you can download a copy of your data (a JSON file, emailed to you) or delete your account. Deletion is immediate on our side and permanently purged within 30 days. You can also correct or update any of your details yourself, any time, from your account settings.
Children
Mind Vitality is not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll say so clearly on this page and, where it affects you directly, by email.
